I made a trip to my local Kroger to pick up some stuff to grill. They have a wide selection of different types of grills. I saw a kamado, gas and several different charcoal style grills. They are also stocked up with plenty of grilling utensils. I think it's impossible to have too many!!

Got Sauce? Kroger does! They are stocking a wide variety of brands that each have their own individual flavors.

Picture
I finally made it to the pork section! Kroger has any cut you could possibly imagine. The butcher actually came out to ask if he could help me select something. He ended up cutting me some 2" thick boneless pork chops.

While waiting on the butcher, I ran into some people that follow me on social media. They were curious what was being planned. They got the inside scoop! HA!

Anyways, here is the recipe you were looking for.

Siracha Peach Glazed Pork Chops

Picture
The Glaze
  • 1C peach preserves
  • 2 Tbs Siracha hot sauce
  • 2 Tbs brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Set aside.

Picture
Rub
  • 1/4C brown sugar
  • 1Tbs black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 Tbs kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

Combine all ingredients using a whisk and mix thoroughly.
Picture
Start off by selecting a thick cut pork chop. This will ensure a tender and juicy finished product.

Picture
Picture
Preheat your grill to 400F for direct grilling.

Picture
Brush the chops with extra virgin olive oil. Make sure they are covered completely. This will seal in all of the juices and will also act as a binder for the rub.

Picture
Picture
Dredge the chops in the rub and coat thoroughly.

Picture
The sugars in the rub should begin to caramelize..

Picture
Cook each chop for 4 minutes on each side or until brown.

Picture
Once flipped, apply the glaze. Make sure you don't forget the sides!

Picture
After the 8 minutes of grilling, move the pork chops to an indirect zone on your grill. With the Big Green Egg, I added the plate setter. If you are using a gas grill, move them to a side of the grill that does not have a burner lit.

Picture
The National Pork Board advised that pork be cooked a minimum internal temperature of 145F. Once you have reached this temperature, remove the pork chops and allow them to rest for 5-10 minutes. The rest will redistribute and of the rapidly moving juices.

Serve and enjoy!

Love to cook a pork tenderloin with a simple dry rub on the egg. Turns out so good.

I like using a marinade and grilled however, if I am not cooking it, I am not as picky! :)

My favorite is a pork shoulder injected with sweet chil sauce and rubbed with meat church rub and smoked on the egg...just like BGC taught us! However I do have some pork chops marinating right now in soy, pineapple juice, brown sugar, rice vinegar and fresh ginger. Those are going on the egg tomorrow night, could be a new favorite.

Since owning my BGE I have prepared seared pork chops, roasted tenderloins, low and slow shoulders and ribs, and even a 46lb whole hog. When done right pork has become a favorite protein of mine all around! Looking forward to trying out this recipe next!

Best way to grill pork is all of the ways. I usually smoke it with some Chub Rub Honey BBQ rub. Then pull it and enjoy, sauce or no sauce.

My favorite pork item to grill is rope sausage. I like it to get a little charred and then I wrap it in a tortilla.
